Veganism is a lifestyle and not a diet – but we do eat three times a day! Food is a huge part of life, and so it’s a huge part of changing to a vegan lifestyle, and Instagram isn’t always the best example to follow. Not everybody wants to live off nothing but leafy greens and kale smoothies. Of course, these things are healthy, but it’s not always affordable, realistic… or enjoyable. So, here’s an example of what meals I would eat in a week. Including the good, the bad, and the ugly!
Avocado on wholemeal toast with pepper and lime juice!
Boots meal deal of sandwich, crisps, and a smoothie (I brought my own fruit)!
Linda McCartney country pie, mashed potato, and peas!
Cereal and almond milk!
Asda onion bhaji wrap!
Pesto pasta with broccoli, olives, and mushrooms!
Peanut butter and jam on wholemeal toast with blueberries!
Yo! Sushi takeaway pumpkin katsu with rice and veg gyoza!
Sweet potato, broccoli, and bean stew with rice and corn on the cob!
Banana smoothie with soya milk, yoghurt, and frozen berries!
A pack up lunch: fake meat sandwiches, soy yoghurts, fruit, and crisps!
Indian “take away” from Tesco with vegan naan from Morrison’s!
Some rabbit food cereal with soy yoghurt and blueberries!
Homemade butternut squash soup and bread!
Tofu and veg stir fry with noodles!
Beans on toast!
M&S meal deal!
Homemade vegan lentil moussaka with aubergines and courgettes.
Peanut butter and banana on toast with cinnamon!
Pasta salad with broccoli, peppers, and spinach!
Take away vegan pizza!!!!!
This is just a very roughly drawn together example of what sort of meals I eat as a vegan. When life gets busy, and I’m working early, I will be eating a lot more cereal and a lot more leftovers and repeat meals. I just wanted to show some variety to give ideas, too.
Remember there is no perfect way of eating and no perfect diet. Everybody is different and everybody’s lifestyle is different.
I also like to snack a lot and often have a sweet treat after my evening meal!!!! Plus a few cups of tea thrown in the mix.
